Gothic Arches theme this Sunday. Great contrasting colours, aren’t they? The background here is left over paint from backgrounds I was painting for my art journalling class. No spare cardstock goes unpainted when I paint – any surface is fair game not to waste paint. The stamps are all handcarved by me and the image [...]

Tag, you’re it have posted their Friday challenge and this week it’s incorporating the word ‘Dream’ or similar in your tags. I chose to alter one of DD’s round clothing tags. The back (originally the front), is really lovely, so I left that as it was and went to work on the back with gesso, [...]

Our inchies this week must include stripes for the Inchy by Inch challenge and here’s a little romantic inchy (similar to the photo ‘Giles’ carries in his breastpocket) that fits the bill!
Image from Crafty Individuals! – People & Places book. Thanks for these challenges Fi… if they weren’t so fiddly, I’d love to make a [...]

That’s this week’s theme at 4×4 Friday. I made 2 freestanding plaques because I was playing with the textured cuttlebug background technique I’ve seen Adrienne, Carol and Annette showing on their blogs. I didn’t have time for the complete process with tissue paper, gesso and paints, so this is the abbreviated version which has worked [...]

No, it’s not code, just abbreviations: Papertake Weekly and My Paper World! I used Nicola’s sketch #5 for the ‘Blue and Green should never be seen’ challenge this week:
My poor DD got home from school as usual, but complained of feeling sick. I made one of our good old-fashioned staples – bangers and mash with [...]

Created by Hand this week: Glossy paper. Artygirlz – Guest designer Fabrizio chose “Green” as his theme. Here’s a combo – altered coaster-cum-hanger, that I find has a place on the wall near my desk as I rather like this one!
and now for a closer look!
Crissi sent me the postcard-sized coaster (thanks!). I covered [...]

Valentine is the theme at Gothic Arches this week and I took the opportunity to follow the Step Outside Your Box Saturday rules and use NO adhesives or sticky stuff whatsoever. I stitched and used a couple of brads.
I used images from Crafty Individuals Miniatures and my scraped paint background, which I sponged black acrylic paint onto [...]

I made a booboo and didn’t get my friendship skinny done before the next challenge began, so I have made an extra effort today and made my ‘Travel’ entry for Sara’s Skinny Saturday – now being hosted by Nellie (*bows*). Here’s mine:
Images and stamps – Crafty Individuals. I used an old photo I was given, [...]

Over at 4×4 Friday this week, the theme is “Music” and here’s what I came up with. I so enjoy these challenges as they’re making me use [...]
