Layers of Color’s theme this week is “summer respite” and I took the opportunity to use one of the gorgeous fabric transfers I received from Annette in Oz. Look at this lovely Bathing Beauty, isn’t she a stunner?!
The beads are threaded onto fine wire (thanks Ali!) – some are from “You can craft” mag and [...]

That’s this week’s theme at 4×4 Friday. I made 2 freestanding plaques because I was playing with the textured cuttlebug background technique I’ve seen Adrienne, Carol and Annette showing on their blogs. I didn’t have time for the complete process with tissue paper, gesso and paints, so this is the abbreviated version which has worked [...]

So, here are some photos I took so that you can see how to use the puree/paste tubes for embellishing your projects. You can wash out any tube, really! They all differ slightly inside as to tone and colour.
Cut the top and bottom of the tube off. Cut carefully along one side and open out. [...]

Well that’s the brief at Theme Thursday this week and it didn’t really hold much appeal for me at first, to be honest. I didn’t really want to use another image of a sweet little girl – I’m not in that kind of mood. However, I remembered my photo stamps – Lucille and Veronica – and [...]

Here’s how it started!! Pearl’s blogging pal in Australia mistakenly thought she’d set a challenge and entered a card… so Pearl decided to have a go at setting a weekly challenge herself! Hence Surprising Weds!!
There are 3 choices for you on this first challenge, so it was pretty straightforward to play along… I chose the [...]

I’ve had a very busy weekend – the last free Sunday before we start back working Sunday market again every week – sorting through stock and car boot boxes. I repacked all of them and got to throw stuff out (a la FlyLady!) and feel so good for having got that out of the way, [...]

Over at the TGIF blog, this week’s challenge is to make the focus of your artwork a photo. Here’s my offering, which will make a super birthday card – which I always need!
I used the big Papermania foam stamps for the word love and they stamp really well – they were an absolute bargain at [...]

… produced this birthday card for a cyber-friend I am going to meet this week
The challenge this week at Skinny Saturday is “Beauty” and I have used the skinny (3″x5″) format for the background matt for my Artgroup image. It even has Bonne Annee on the image, which I believe is french for [...]

I like to try and do the odd challenge, bearing in mind that the majority can be used for my Christmas cards – very handy and keeps me experimenting and trying new things. I’m having a bit of a love affair with my new Cuttlebug embossing folders at the moment and embossing whatever doesn’t move!! [...]
