… with an experiment! Well the reason being, SOYBS challenged us to use ‘alternative methods’ of colouring our artwork this week! Her blog post was entitled “Start your day with coffee” and of course, it’s not unknown to colour tags, etc. with tea/coffee is it? Well I chose to use turmeric and mashed daffodil leaves! 😀
Here’s the sheet of thin cardstock before I used it so you can see I got 2 backgrounds on the same sheet. The stalks also left bits on the cs, giving me some texture aswell (bonus!) Which did I use? The middle of course, so both are in my background! 😉
And here’s a card with 2 square images adhered to chipboard squares to add depth, which I made for PTW this week, asking for squares!!
The ribbon is cut off one of DD’s greeting cards; Miniatures from Crafty Individuals; scribble flower stamp by Funstamps; Frayed burlap distress ink to keep it soft; inspiration – the Queen!

/ March 5, 2008Hi Rosie – lovely colors! i remember getting a nice yellow stain by wetting onion skins and leaving them to dry on paper. What I can’t remember is whether I boiled them or not. Guess I’ll to do it again and find out. 🙂
