Artygirlz #29 Black & White!

This week, it’s my turn as Guest Designer at Artygirlz!! Julie, Crissi and I have been mates and Design Team members of Auntys Forum for the last couple of years and I was genuinely thrilled when they asked me to do this week’s challenge as GD. I made a black and white Memo Board for my lovely 87 year old Mother-in-law for Mother’s Day this year and this is it:

It was an old freebie which came with a Cross Stitch magazine a few years ago, between A4 and A5 size. I covered it with Dovecraft Retro Charcoal Papers, added a few embellishments and stuck the pad to the left hand side. The chipboard flower and its ‘housing’ were painted with black acrylic paint, doodled and glossed with Anita’s 3D gloss.

The black fabric heart came from my stash and the ‘MUM’ was a giveaway with Scrapbook Inspirations magazine last year… all the elements are great to touch – the shiny flower, the dome seasonal stickers (Narratives by Karen Russell, from Creative Imaginations, bought at Artymiss!). I used strong double sided sticky tape to hold the pad in place. I had to cover the hole at the back with matching paper, added a bit of black satin ribbon and a red heart brad from stash.

Luckily, she loves it and it sits by her telephone! Thanks for having me, girls and I hope lots of people join in with this challenge! xoxoxo
