Created by Hand

Watercolour backgrounds” are the requirement at Created by Hand this week and a chance of winning a great prize as Suzanne from Quietfire Design celebrates their newsletter’s 7th anniversary! I’m taking part in an international Row Houses swap for the first time ever and have been diligently making these houses over the past couple of weeks – starting was the hardest part: Gathering the materials I wanted to use, working betwen the kitchen, my craft space and the lounge and reisiting the temptation to sit carving stamps every evening!!

Mixed Media Monday asked us to produce a piece of work with Paris as the theme, so I’ve tried to incorporate both of these lovely themes in one of the Row Houses. I used a page from an old book for the background and gave it a watercolour wash of blue/green and a little red mixed into the blue to create the mood. Then I used one of the Crafty Individuals images from the Miniatures series and embellished from there…

I haven’t mentioned it before, but I’m very proud to share a little personal news with you – There are 4 pieces of mine on the front page of the Crafty Individuals Gallery (Row 1 – 2nd and 5th; Row 2 – 1st; Row 5 – 1st).

Anyway, here’s the Parisian House!
