Scraps in 3D!

TGIF this week: scraps of paper (have a look at the lovely examples this week), with rubber stamping, which for a papercrafter is no hardship. Lisa, on the other hand, challenged us to go 3D or assemblage at SOYBS, which I’ve been thinking about all week long. She gave us a link to Michael de Meng’s awesome creations, but that’s way out of my league for now.

So this evening, I decided to gather all the little 3D-able scraps and make a plaque. I built the colours up from the stripey card – my DH’s last aftershave packaging! Next came the vellum “Confidence”, the little envelope stamped with the dominos from Cherry Pie; then the rival birdies (Crafty Individuals stamps) – “Latie” and “Earlie” by name for the purpose of this piece! – and a rubber worm (fishing lure), plus other sundry embellies.

The moral of the story is that if you have confidence, you don’t leave things to chance, or, “the early bird catches the worm”! Excuse my manipulative sense of humour, please?!!

Earlie gets the worm!

Of course, the pocket also doubles as a nest (and have you seen the tail feathers on those babies?!!!!). I had to staple the worm to stop it crawling away…. I could go on, but I think you get the picture… 😉

  8. I love this Rosie! Especially the little pocket nest! thanks for the laugh! the early bird may get the worm, but it’s the second mouse that get’s the cheese! (my rationale for being so late with everything this week).
