Dream Big

When I saw that this week’s Wednesday Stamper theme is “Squares“, I briefly considered making more inchies, but common sense won out and I had a sudden flash of inspiration, made a very brief sketch and then got the tomato paste tube out. I have taken pics for those of you who are intrigued by how I use them in my projects! I’ll post that tomorrow. This is more important for me tonight…

I had to finish carving the letters I needed for the word Dream and then gather the paints that I wanted to stamp with, etc. Here’s the beginning of “Dream big”:

The neat word ‘big’ is a foam stamp by PM (Papermania) which is fab for stamping with any medium at all and particularly reliable with paint. (Note to self – experiment with gesso!) I let this dry and then sat down with my box of pastels and started chalking and rubbing. Here’s the finished result, a 16″x12″ piece which I really like!

Fun, isn’t it? The 3 gold corners are punched out of…………….. a tomato paste tube which has been double-embossed!

  12. I guess we know what you ‘didn’t’ have for dinner Rosie 😉 Tomato paste and hand carved stamps = just super! I’m not sure we can find tomato paste in tubes at American groceries, you’ve got my wheels turning! Love that you used the metal from the tube too, great touch!!!
