Laura has chosen Umbrellas as this week’s challenge at Layers of Colour and there’s even a tutorial (which I happily referred to), showing you how to make a 3D umbrella embellie! So here’s my entry – a whimsical card…
I used a cocktail stick and a bead for the handle of the umbrella, adhered with silicone glue to the card beneath the ‘umbrella’. I also found a dictionary page with the definition of umbrella to use for my main background! This was fun Laura, thank you!
A big thank you also for the beautiful stamps too – that strawberry border is stamped with one of the 3 Laura sent me. You think that’s good, look at the envelope it arrived in – my first piece of Mail Art! Isn’t it glorious? DH and DD were also most impressed!!
I have just blanked out the full adresses to be on the safe side (in Photoshop!).

/ May 28, 2008Outstanding, Rosie! I love how you pulled the colors from her scarf, added the dictionary pages and enhanced your wonderful 3-D umbrella! And thank you, Honey for the praises, you honor me!

/ May 28, 2008How cool is the mail art, not that what you made is not cool. The piece turned out very nice, including the dinky red umbrella.
