“Monochromatic”

That’s this week’s challenge for Mixed Media Monday. I had a lot of fun with this one – and there are hidden undertones if you look for them! The base is a wooden cut out leaf, given to me by my friend Jan (Auntys Forum):

The tag is actually black with white writing on it, the words are mine and the sticker (Winter) is because the little girl’s attitude is somewhat frosty! The leaf was coloured with black soot distress ink and the Primas are grey – I’ve had the same bag full for ages!

I have 2 very important (to me, anyway!), bits of news to share with you…. My Arty-Farty Birdie Bag#4 is on sale in The Card & Gift Shop in Holsworthy and next week I’m taking along a selection of my work to show Chris. He’d like to see what else I do! He and his partner run the shop and want to sell locally sourced items, especially for the Summer Visitors and seasonal gifts, too. They are really keen on recycled and handmade gifts, etc. and I hope this may be a great opportunity for me!!

The second announcement is that I’m lucky to have been chosen as part of Ria Vaneman’s Home Impressions Design Team! Ria is from the Netherlands and has a bricks and mortar store aswell as an online store. (If you click on Home Impressions in the left hand menu, you’ll be able to see her range of stamps.) She produces her own rubber stamp plates and I already ‘know’ a few of the girls from cyberland, as we belong to the same Groups. I’m very excited to be working with even more fabulous images and can’t wait to get cracking!
