Half an ATC!

I thought I’d finished with tiny stuff by making Inchies, but seeing as I enjoy the two-part challenges we’ve been set recently on CBH, I decided to make half an ATC – a Moo – in blue. This is very simple, just a scrap of painted blue background Cardstock and an Art quote stamped in blue on Vellum. “A work of art is a confession” by Albert Camus, courtesy of MaVinci’s Reliquary (fab rubber!).

Sticking with the Blues this Tuesday, my good pals Crissi & Julie (Artygirlz) are asking for blue in our artwork aswell! I’ve been wanting to try out the metallic resist technique I saw on Carol’s blog, so I made this pair of ATCs (which I have fallen in love with!), using glossy photo paper, that Stampers Anonymous image, and Derwent metallic pencils in blue, aqua and mauve. I stamped the image with black Stazon, coloured heavily the boxes I wanted to show through and then applied black archival ink to the surface. I buffed it off with a dry wipe and love the effect of the metallic pencil showing through.

I don’t think it’s exactly right, but ain’t it pretty?!! The art quotes are from MaVinci again, stamped in blue on scrap paper. I even edged them with dark brown, using tweezers, cos I really am messy and I didn’t want to smudge the words. I also used tweezers to place the strips on top of a fat glue stick and slid them over the surface before sticking them down. Wasn’t I being neat and clean for a change?!!!
