Finally!

I love altering dominos (among many other things) and I finished this little one off last night. It was my intention to photograph Birdie-Pin for the Artygirlz ‘Alter it’ challenge, but I couldn’t get a decent pic of it no matter what I tried. So I had another go this evening whilst taking pics of a couple of ATCs I am making for a swap on an artgroup. Here’s my Birdie-Pin!

He’s so cute! I had to make a nest for him from some tiny bits of scrap hessian and a bit of blue paint. Don’t ask! I’m obsessed with paint and gel medium at the moment…

Here are the 2 ATCs I’ve completed so far – they are Summer and Autumn – I still have Winter and Spring to complete. They’re on handmade backgrounds and I have used transparent dome stickers on them which fits quite nicely with Wednesday Stamper’s ‘Transparent’ theme.

I have the task of making this set of 4 to send to Trish Bee, whom I admire greatly! So, as a sort of tribute to her and all the background techniques I have learnt being a member of NGS, I am using my handmade backgrounds for it… and they are all different! I thought it’d be lovely for her to compare my results with her techniques (IYSWIM!). Stamp on the left is Oak, Ash, Thorn from Third Coast and I can’t remember who the poppy heads is by, but the backgrounds are (left) poured paint and (right) glue resist.

  3. I love the shimmery domino – do you prime it or anything before altering it? I assume you are using the “stone/marble” ones to alter?? Wonderful ATC’s as well:)
