It’s a loooooong post!

I found myself playing with fluffy and furry fabric today at the Scrapstore – we’re putting animal/bird kits together so all you have to do with them is stitch and stuff – everything else is provided!! Then of course I had to see what I could find to play with… well, it’s obligatory, isn’t it?! I bought some metallic oil pastels and some wooden bits n bobs, some ‘feet’ for my shrine, some fab fabric offcuts and another glue spreader and brush!

Then after doing some work with Nick and making a few ‘official’ phonecalls, I got to escape upstairs and make some ATCs and try an image transfer on a domino! So here goes! I was really lucky and won the prize over at Craftaway a Sunday’s first challenge last week, so of course I just have to join in with this week’s challenge to say thanks. Well the theme is ‘cute’ and you know that’s not really me, but here’s my version of cute:

The dragon is from one of my eco-friendly paper bags for goods at market – great innit?!! Well, by now I was in the mood and I cut a couple of ATCs from my scraped-paint background sheet, doodled flowers and grass and used a Butterfly from the Personal Impressions Garden set (which stamp superbly) to stamp onto adhesive acetate. I  cut him out and stuck him to some net/mesh and then used glossy accents to secure him. This one’s for Lisa Vollrath’s ‘Things with Wings’ Make It Mondays challenge:

It’s pretty isn’t it? The next one is my first time entry to TMTA – another butterfly, this time on red mesh, over script as the challenge is handwriting and I’ve written “Flutter by, Butterfly… Schmetterling, Mariposa” on the ATC too!

I always try to take part in the MMM challenges and this evening I had a spare domino which has an alcohol inks background and a couple of crows on it. I decided I’d try a transfer on a domino – haven’t done that yet! – and this week’s theme is ‘Famous People’. I am still in spooky-mode, so I got out Lisa Vollrath’s Halloween domino sheet and using Liquitex gel medium, I managed this fabulously eerie image transfer of Edgar Allen Poe. I can’t believe it transferred so well, despite the stamped crow down his face. I think the quality of the images is brilliant and shall attempt more of these once I get my stash from Craftaway!!

I love this! It’s very grungey, but I shall tart it up a bit, add a pin to the back and then wear it! 😉

  2. First of all, I LOVE the domino! Edgar transferred beautifully, and I love the crow on his face! Adds to the spooky feeling! I am still laughing from your ‘cute’ ATC! Her darling little face was on my computer screen, and it was very unexpected when I scrolled down and found the dragon and her words!! And last, but not least: CONGRATULATIONS!! That’s quite an impressive stash of goodies you won!! I shall be back to see what beautiful creations they become!!
