Purple 4×4 Quiltie!

As soon as I saw this week’s theme at Theme Thursday, I knew I wanted to make a small quiltie. I have an old cut up purple crushed velvet blouse that I used for the background, the Cherish stamp and a lovely image transfer (image from Crissi originally, I think). The outer is mauve twill and the ceramic beads are from my stash. The metal embellies are from Craftaway a Sunday and the purple rose… can’t remember!!

I used some purple metallic thread too which doesn’t show in the scan, sadly and I enjoy making french knots so that was also fun! I don’t think I’ll ever become a quilter per se, but I love making these occasional textile hangings! Very satisfying…

  3. Absolutely elegant, Rosie! I love the color and the wonderful French knots (I like to make them too. My granny taught me how.) Have you considered that you have a lovely gift ready to give someone for Christmas?

  9. Love it, love it, love it! Dabbled in quilting myself at one time, but just too darn time consuming, I still have a wall hanging in need of finishing off from about 5 years ago! Much appreciate your comment, thanks.

  11. I love your purple mini-quilty. They are my favorite size too, though it has been awhile. So much is packed away while trying to sell our house. I am living vicariously through you and many others—making notes along the way! Keep creating!
