Artygirlz – fabric

Julie and Crissi have made some great examples – whimsical and fun – using fabric on their artwork. That’s the Artygirlz challenge this week. I too am entering a canvas, though the use of fabric may not be too obvious. However, if you look closely you can see I have used a fair bit of muslin and hessian to form texture on this mixed media canvas – “Oasis – Light & Shade”.

Sadly, scanning it hasn’t shown the depth of the black, which just looks grey in this pic, but it’s a really rich dark and light canvas and I’m so pleased with it. It’s acrylics and multi-textured, using that fabulous Oasis stamp again and the highlights are done with silver acrylic, applied with 2 fingertips!!

I finished all my canvasses today, so I can relax a little, but I still have bookmarks to make and probably another couple of bags, provided I have time! When I booked my table, November 8th seemed so far away… now it’s looming. Ah well… back to work!
