We finally succumbed to a cold here and I’ve been feeling really crappy for the last 5 or 6 days, so I haven’t even had the energy to post or create much. I have a lot of projects in my head, the usual list of Christmas cards, etc. to make/write and I just know it won’t all get completed on time, but I’ll just have to do what I can and stop feeling sorry for myself, won’t I? Next year I promise myself I’ll be better organised. I think the whole Craft Fair thing got too intense and I became a bit overwhelmed, in all honesty. So, a new approach is needed in 2009…
However, Crissi & Julie of Artygirlz (fellow Design Team members on Aunty’s Forum), have challenged us to use frames this week and I am entering this one I made a couple of weeks ago… I wrote at the time that all it needed was a suitable image. Well here’s the finished article with a little inner framing too!
People’s reactions to nude pics can be quite funny – especially in prudish, Victorian England (yes, still!!) and if anyone remarks on the photo, I tell them it’s my Grandmother… I know it’s naughty, but I can’t help it!! She definitely would’ve loved this photo anyway – she was quite a character. Her fave tipple was Pink Champagne (Sekt) and she smoked cigarettes with a long black holder, 1920s style, although she only puffed elegantly!! She had a big boxer dog called ‘Bobbi’ who drooled everywhere and did the headshake where all the dribble makes a large circle round his head before it flies off in all directions? Yuck!! Eventually, she died of cancer at the age of 76, but not before she had as much fun as possible. WTG, Omi!
Ay, those were the days….Christmas in Berlin, all singing round the piano on Christmas Eve, getting squiffy, exchanging presents and Pfefferkuchen, Bunteteller (I think that’s how it’s spelled), which were brightly coloured plates – one each for everyone – piled high with fruit, nuts, chocolates and soft chocolate-covered or iced, Xmas pfefferkuchen stars.
I might try for something similar here next year… 😉
