This week, the Weekend Taggers have asked us to make triangular tags and this little pretty will go on next year’s Christmas tree. Why not this year’s? Well, it’s too traditional and I don’t feel DD and DH are ready for a handmade tree at present. Maybe next year I’ll have my own creative space and make my own tree and handmade ornaments…
The background is a red greeting card painted with yellow acrylic paint, onto which I stamped snowflakes with gesso. I then took my Encore Brilliance copper pad and smooshed it over the surface, wiped off a bit where I’d stamped the snowflakes and then clear embossed the lot.
I cut out the triangle and used Stazon to stamp the Cherry Pie angel directly onto the tag. I simply added some embellies, including the Syntego beads on nylon, which were knotted to double them up. I then poked a red balloon brad through the knot and fixed that with a spot of superglue. I cut off the nylon loop at the back of the brad and attached it to the left corner.
I added a snowflake peel-off to the right corner and a dab of glaze drops for dimension. I must tell you about Cutting Edge Crafts: I ordered some Anita’s 3D gloss and a couple of other things from them (great value as they do FREE p+p), but when the package arrived, the tube of Anita’s had split and leaked all over everything – yuck! I phoned and explained what had happened – luckily I was able to wash the gloss off my CB folder and the bottle of glaze drops… Well, this morning, a replacement bottle of Anita’s arrived plus an extra one (F.O.C.) for the inconvenience! Now that’s what I call excellent customer service and I have gladly popped the broken tube in a polybag to post back to them tomorrow.
