Hope springs eternal!

In between going to visit a new school for DD this morning, only to find the road out of our village flooded and impassable yet again, due to the heavy rain last night; and having my PC overhauled and almost fixed, I was restless enough to want a break this evening and headed up to my little sanctum to try out the 2″ x 4″ collages/whatever suggested by Theme Thursday this week.

Luckily for my sanity I had some yellow cardstock left over from another project. That then led to the hunt for some coordinating images. I found them on the Little Yellow Things Sheet from Ten Two Studios. The strange gold effect in the background was caused by my gold pen suddenly spurting ink over the corner of this image and leaving a dirty great splodge on it! Yuck!

I used the swirl stamp from Crafty Individuals with fired brick distress ink because it worked so well with the reddish hair of the girl in the image. I then coloured the paper lace yellow and used copper ink round the edges, embossing it for a bitta bling! Now those two elements also fit in with ‘Lace’ as the Wednesday Stamper requirement for the week!! And here are three more…

Aren’t these small images delightful? I expect I shall be able to make Moos now too!

Well tomorrow I’m off to the Craft4Crafters Show at Westpoint near Exeter with my buddy Debs from Cornwall – she and her DH are taking me along with them, so I don’t even have to drive – woohoo!  I’ve never been before but she goes quite regularly, so I think I’m in good hands. I’m quite excited to tell the truth!!

At least we won’t have to worry about the weather as it’s indoors – I just hope the roads are passable in the morning… hope springs eternal! 🙂

  11. These are wonderful! And thanks for providing such detailed instructions on how you created them – including the golden ink blob! I actually think the blob is quite nice! It lends it a nice antique feel, I think. I also really like the reddish swirl on that first card. Perfect!

  17. It’s amazing how yellow, especially this particular bright, lemony yellow, has an instant cheering-up effect on me. I just love these, they’re so bright and cheery and happy! The little accident with the gold pen works just fine – looks like part of the design. Hope you had lots of fun at the Crafts for Crafters fair! Did you buy anything?

Nope, I’m not giving up blogging! It’s brought too much goodness into my life…such as coming to know and share with awesomely creative people like you!
