Red and/or pink?

Created by Hand this week asks for red and/or pink in our artwork and I am showing this mini-domino bracelet which I made a couple of nights ago. I am not gifted at jewellery-making. Show me a jump ring and some pliers, tiny beads and fiddly fastenings and I start to shake! I have big paws with nails attached and very fiddly stuff makes me nervous… but this was so simple to make and so satisfying!

All these fab images are from the Dainty Dominos collage sheet and the Dainty Dominos are also from Ten Two Studios. There are 8 sets to choose from all on the same sheet. I used 10 doms (I have unusually small wrists) and picked the 10 matching images I thought coordinated best – I made each pair of images ‘face’ each other…

I left a tiny white border round each image because I like the contrast. Once I had adhered and glazed them, all I added was a teeny tiny gem to each one and then I selected 1 bead to go between each domino and a few for the end to tie off. I used proper memory beading nylon which stretches a bit and cut 2 pieces the same length. These tiny doms are drilled horizontally (side to side), which makes them ideal for easy-threading! (specially to a klutz like me!)

I found the original domino bracelet projects back last year on the website under ‘Project Ideas’. See, I remember things although it might take me 6 months to get around to making them myself – lol! Here’s an alternate view:

I used deep red embroidery floss to attach a couple of dangly oriental charms to the fastening – which also hides the knots. I told you I’m no expert, but on the plus side, if I can make something so pretty, then anyone can!! 😉
