Old Postage Stamps…

They’re so useful in backgrounds, aren’t they? I’ve covered several themes in this collage (which came together unbelievably quickly!) – Make It Mondays – Postage Stamps; Created by Hand – Stripes; and Artygirlz – Butterflies.

The original cardstock is maroon, although you wouldn’t know it now! I used torn text pages for the base, then postage stamps from my stash, gesso (removed from the most interesting stamps), distress ink and embossing powder and finally black stazon; a black pen and a Sakura Gelly Roll pen in white.

The card itself is 10″ x 4″ – wonderfully long and thin to cover… The stamps are by ThirdCoast RS (postmarks) and Personal Impressions (butterfly). The Poppy Heads I bought on Ebay long ago…
