Spring Greens….

Haha!! Spring greens – curly kale, no!! I love kale as a veg and I’m just joking. Wednesday Stamper’s theme this week is Green and how we ‘see’ it as a colour… how we use it in our artwork. Here’s a 6″x4″ canvas board collage using one of the larger images from the Green Things Collage set by Ten Two Studios:

I think the image is Dutch, or even Belgian… but as I’ve never learned either language, I can’t be sure. I painted the background green (acrylics) and used part of a road map of the Netherlands behind the main image. I sponged on paint mixed with gel medium and used olive green stazon to stamp “In the garden” and the Pixie at the top. I finished off with a fabric leaf and a couple of flowers which mimic those in the image. The ribbon flowers across the top were originally yellow, but I inked them with the stazon to cooordinate! 😉

It also fits in nicely with Make It Mondays “Spring” theme…

  16. Hi Rosie, I’ve been here, but for about 2 months the only computer I had to use was my school computer and I had to really limit my time on that. I have my own brand spanking new laptop now, though, and I can chat away to my heart’s content again. Your encouragement and support has always meant so much to me, and I am very gratified that you like my new stuff. it’s different I know, but I feel like I’m learning so much. The painting I’m working on today is in the same exact colors as your lovely piece here. We must be possessed by the same springtime muse because the painting I’m working on today is in the same exact colors as your lovely piece here. Great minds, huh? Well, got to run to the art store for more green before closing time. I’ll be back soon. Are you on Facebook by any chance?

    Love,
    Al
