That’s the theme Patty chose for this week at Mixed Media Monday. I love the series “Numbers” – probably because Charlie Epps is really cute! (You gotta love a gorgeous geek!) I couldn’t make my mind up what I wanted to do with this piece till I decided to alter a coaster. Then I didn’t know when to stop with the paint and texture… so this is what happened in the end. The photo’s not great and it’s brighter in RL, but you get the idea – probably!
The background is paint scraped onto an old book page with a palette knife. Number stamps from MaVinci’s Reliquary and the small image is a PaperArtsy Mini stamped onto paint spattered kitchen roll! I used a pointy stick dipped in white paint for the random lines – I have been using lots of paint lately, thanks to Julie Prichard’s Layer Love class, sadly approaching its end. I’m in the middle of Lesson #8 – painting on wood now. I’ll have to finish that one tomorrow though!

Brilliant idea with the coaster, great hearing just what you did too, our local alt arts group is doing an altered coaster swap in a couple months!
I got behind on my painting, but am Loving using the paints for different things. Are you going to sign up for Julie’s Art Journal class too? oxo
