Up, up and awaaaaayyyyy…

I combined 2 of my fave challenges this evening – The Three Muses and Wednesday Stamper. “Up, up and away” was chosen by Taluula and Patty chose the theme for WS – “Use the colours of your country’s flag”… Here’s a quirky hanging collage made mainly using recycled materials and Ria’s Funny People stamps (Home Impressions):

The red card is last year’s easter egg box, the handmade paper I’ve had for at least 3 years and the netting is waste from a factory. The ‘balloons’ are painted and stamped chipboard circles. The Union Jack – flag of Great Britain and Northern Ireland – is red, white and blue.

I struggled this week to get creative because it’s just so hot and humid here – we’re not accustomed to temperatures in the 70s and 80s, combined with high humidity and my area upstairs where I create, being part of the roof conversion, is pretty much unbearable. I’m not saying bring on the rain, but… cooler evenings would be nice!!

Never happy with our weather, we Brits!

  1. Wonderful shades of red, white and blue Rosie! Love the quirkiness too and cool way you’ve attached that neat netting! Humidity seems to be everywhere, it makes all the difference too, dry heat is so much more bearable….so they tell me!

  2. Rosie this is my kind of wacky and I absolutely love it. Bravo.

  3. What a fun piece, Rosie…and combining the two challenges was an excellent idea. I love reading what you have used in your pieces and where you have found them…that is so interesting. Haven’t been e-talking much, busy trying to teach myself Paint Shop Pro….digital art. Not that easy, but enjoying the clicking here and there to see what I can create…rofl. Oh, dear. ttys…hugs, gayle.

  4. Rosie, this is scrumptious and I love it. It is so full of fun and cheekiness! Great work.

  5. Wonderful and very fun creative piece! Love the recycled aspects too. We have just recovered from almost 2 solid weeks of rain so it is nice to see the sun again. We are having a cool summer so far here in New England.

  6. This is hugely fun, Rosie. I love your description of how it all came together—-and come together it did, in great manner. I admire the skill it takes to pull together “found” things! Kudos to you!
