It’s been blowing a gale and we’ve had torrential rain here today, so I amused myself earlier by finishing a couple of small projects and started to alter a large spoon to create my “piece of heaven” for TGIF. If I had been more patient (and used less polymer gel medium!), you’d see the original version, but I had to re-work parts of this to rescue it.
I am seriously annoyed at how impatient I am – should’ve gone and danced while it was drying!! It’s not perfect, but it really looks pretty hanging up in the hall… 🙂
The images are like those from the Cupids sheet at Ten Two Studios, just a bit smaller and the text is from a very small, ancient dictionary, using the words “heaven, heavenward, bless and bliss”. The blue wire is curled behind the top of the spoon in a triple loop to make a hanger without any hassle! The dangling stars are from broken pair of earrings.

/ July 18, 2009How beautiful!! When I first opened your blog page, all I could see was the top of the spoon which looked a bit like a shiny baseball bat handle. Imagine my surprise when I scrolled down and saw your spoon. Absolutely exquisite. I love it.
