Why not? It’s a new year, a new decade and we have already had snow here in Cornwall, albeit a light dusting in Bude – that’s the singular micro-climate at work again. 3 miles further up the road, they’ve had a decent showing in Kilkhampton!
I have been painting again – more watercolour experimenting and I’m really enjoying myself. DH is a little worried over my ‘obsession’ with death and destruc tion in purples (heehee!), but he did like this piece: The result of using up the pigments left in my palette!!
Quite exotic, isn’t it? Part of the fascination of this kind of painting for me is that I never know what I’m going to do, but patience and layering made this happen and I like it!
I was watching a fab bloke called Alan Lowrey painting on SAA.co.uk – they have a TV channel on Sky TV and Freeview – and I followed the link to Youtube and found another chap called Bob Davies… Bob has an Ebook which is FREE, all about watercolouring. His site is amazing and he comes across as so genuine, I shall be reading through the book and going back to the site to practise some of the lessons. There is a huge amount of information available from Bob and other artists, right across the disciplines of watercolour, acrylic, oil painting and pastels.
It does take some time to download the Ebook, but you won’t be disappointed… well, I wasn’t!!

/ January 3, 2010This is gorgeous! Love those gorgeous, vivid colors. And so interesting! It just pulls you in, wanting to get closer so you can know…what’s going on in there? They look like a procession of revelers holding candles up in the air and celebrating something…and with a magnificent sunset in the background, twilight about to enfold them.
