Welcome to my One World, One Heart Magic Carpet Ride Giveaway! I joined in OWOH for the first time last year, made some amazing new discoveries and ‘met’ the most wonderful group of bloggers from all over the world. It was such a marvellous experience, I knew I wanted to repeat it again this year. So, it’s all aboard the Magic Carpet in 2010…
This experience is open to Bloggers all over the world – not just artists and crafters, but everyone who blogs regularly. You just never know where you’re going to land and I’ve also persuaded DH to join in, so do go check out his Giveaway if you fish, have a friend or relative who fishes, or know someone who’d like to go fishing!
I have created a mixed media collage specifically for OWOH this year. If you’d like to win it, please leave a comment on this blog post, including your email address so that I can contact you if you win.
Frances
It doesn’t matter where in the world you live, I’ll mail it to you anyway! You have between now and February 14th at midnight, to comment. The following day, I shall use a random number generator to choose a winner and then notify the lucky winner. So check back on February 15th to see who the lucky winner is!
It’s a 19 x 24 x1cm collage on wood and the sides are painted too, so no need to get a frame. In inches, it measures approx. 9.5″ x 7.5″ x 0.5″.
The photos are from my collection of vintage snapshots. I have used the originals as I have so many!
That’s a large fabric leaf and a wooden domino… Painted in acrylics, the whole piece has been given a couple of coats of satin varnish to seal and protect it. / February 3, 2010Oh these men and their fishing!!! I grew up learning to troll for fish, casting and even in my late teens tried my hand at flyfishing! (All I caught were trees!!) My bro,,,,retired now has a PHD in fisheries-basically LIVES/BREATHES and exists to fish! His son, my nephew, is in charge of many hatcheries (salmon) in the state of Washington….I love to EAT it,,but these days don’t want to fish for it!

I grew up fishing with my family and some of my most fond memories are of my mom waiting at the schoolbus stop with our cane poles and a can of worms, to take us fishing at the dam. Before homework! I lived in Minnesota for many years and with all those lakes you can bet I spent a great amount of time on the water or on the banks pulling in my walleye. Your DH deserves kudos for the time & effort
he has put in to making such a worthwhile endeavor take root
