It’s all about ME!

MeMe_Blog_Award

Just kidding… Lisa (The Wright Stuff), has very kindly given me an award – a MeMe!! It’s for “so many lovely things to look at, so little time!! “ Thank you sweet one… If you want a real giggle, go see Lisa’s own acceptance speech, a la Nicole Kidman – she writes with great wit and I can’t wait to read her novel (when it’s finished!).

Now, it’s up to moi to tell you 7 things about ME and then pass this on to 7 other lucky bloggers… yes, just 7!

1. I faint at the sight of blood, but am capable of patching up adults and small children and delaying the loss of consciousness till done!

2. Damsons set my teeth on edge and make my mouth go numb!

3. I have always wanted to live on a boat and sail round the world…

4. I have a secret ‘thing’ for fit, balding guys, like Jason Statham, Vin Diesel, Bruce Willis and my DH!!

5. I really love fishing and have no trouble at all putting 15 – 20 maggots on a size 8 hook, but I am scared of spiders (mainly bigguns, wearing size 10 Doc Marten boots).

6. I enjoy gardening and have green fingers, but that means I am excellent at growing weeds too… =P

7. I have had 6 poems published in various anthologies over the last 8 years!

Now to pass this award along, I am going to be quite frank – I’d love to give it to many, many bloggers, but these 7 are people who continue to inspire me, make me giggle, brighten my day and/or are just lovely, friendly bloggers.

1. Barbara Hagerty – for being my bestest blogging buddy and a true inspiration in all the ways a friend you’ve never met, can be! xoxoxo

2. Marie – Ozstuff for always bringing a smile to my face, amking me laugh often and almost choke on my cuppa tea!

3. Lori Saul – Raven Painting – for sharing the most delicious digital creations and stirring my soul…

4. Diana Evans – for being such a ‘cupcake’ of kindness and a fab illustrator.

5. Taluula – Ann – for sharing a ‘wicked’ sense of humour and paying me outrageous compliments!

6. Bev – IndyBev – for being clever and gracious, funny and sharing… aswell as pretty talented in the digital department too!

7. Faye – for being one of the absolutely nicest bloggers in the entire Blogosphere. xo

Awards!!

I’m very bad at acknowledging awards, even though it’s a lovely feeling to receive them. I think the mental block comes when you have to pass them on and choose a recipient(s), because there are so many wonderful bloggers out there and singling one to five out often seems mean!

However, thank you Sally – One Dragon’s Dream for the Kreatriv Award, which I’m to pass on to 5 other bloggers:

1. Hermine

2. Serena (Dream with the Fishes)

3. Gayle Page-Robak

4. Diane (MMM & Diane’s Arty Antics)

5. Sandy (Stempelchaotin)

You ladies always produce creative and inspiring artwork which leads to the birth of many ‘ideas’!

And I have to thank my best blogging friend, Barbara, for the Kindred Spirit award.

kindredspirits-award

It’s about people you have a connection with which transcends blogging – we share a quirky sense of humour, some of the things that happen to us are more than coincidental it would seem… that sort of thing. It’s hard to know who else to pass this to, because the 2 people who spring immediately to mind are not bloggers! However, I do need to pass this back to Barbara – Artiphy the Heart – and to my other nutty friend, Patty – Magpie’s Nest – who knows me for the Gipsy Rosie Lee I am at heart!  [Patty – if Lenny blogged, she’d be on my list too!]

These two ladies who blog are very special to me – both are warm, caring bloggers, with a wicked sense of humour, who readily share their experience and talent – and also create ‘outside the box’ regularly – you both inspire me!! xoxoxo

Patty – If you accept this award and choose to pass it on, you have to let Audrey know by leaving her a comment HERE.

Giving and Receiving…

I have received awards this week – 2 from Tracey! I’ve been seeing the Tammy Vitale Wylde Woman award popping up on people’s blogs all over Blogland and I finally got it this week from Susie AND Tracey! Thank you so much ladies… Having just been to Tammy’s blog, I was completely blown away by her ceramic masks, her jewellery and mostly by her philosophy regarding women being women, being powerful, embracing their power and sharing it. I love that and my own art and life have changed so dramatically over the past year since I gave in and embraced my inner woman – that female essence bubbling below the surface screaming to get out and create, create, create!

That was the scary part, opening the flood gates of feminine creativity… Life is a pleasure, creating satisfies my soul and I am happier in my art than I have ever been in my entire life. I love making up stories about rubber stamp images! I love letting my sense of humour out onto canvas, cards, fabric, and my blogging buddies.

There’s so much outstanding creativity in the blogosphere, daily inspiration – no, hourly inspiration! Then there are the lovely comments and interaction between bloggers/artists/crafters which bring a smile to your face. The generosity of sharing in our community is second to none. Women are amazing and I am so proud to be a woman today!

The rules of this award are as follows:

1.  You can give it to one or one hundred or any number inbetween – it’s up to you.  Make sure you link to their site in your post.

2.  Link back to this blogsite (http://www.TammyVitale.com/) (so Tammy can go visit all these wonderful women.

Purpose of the Award:  To send love and acknowledgement to women who brighten your day, teach you new things and live their lives fully with generosity and joy.

1. To Barbara, who artiphies my heart with her talent, humour and her friendship

2. To Trish, who is an outstanding List Mom and the most enthusiastic blogging artist I have come across

3. To Hermine, whose love of her family shines through her art

4. To Ria Vaneman, who took a chance on me and created an awesome Design Team that I’m very proud to be a part of

5. To Belinda, always an inspiration

6. To Michelle, who is one of my Art Heroes and gave me the confidence boost to challenge myself

7. To Annette, who went above and beyond the call of artistic duty to help me nail image transfers!

8. To Carol, whose wonderful, detailed photos make it easy to learn new techniques

All of you, and many more arty-crafty people contribute to my busy life, so thank you for being outstanding Wylde Women – xoxoxo – when I think of you all, this ATC sums it up, because I have learned so much from everyone:

Stamp – Third Coast RS – yeah, I know you know about The Eyes!

Thanks ladies!!!

I was given this award by 4 different bloggers in the last week… so thank you very, very much! Thank you Leona and Rubymay, Caroline and Simone. It’s much-appreciated and I’d love to share it with all the wonderful bloggers who are in my links because they inspire others, share their skills, talents, tips, secrets and photos. I have learned so much from Blogland – it’s helped me to grow, develop, share, laugh and enjoy art in all forms. I’ve made what I feel will be lasting contact with some amazing ladies, whose creative talents are only equalled by their sense of humour…

I’ve been working today and am tired, so tomorrow will be better (till I have go to work in the evening!) and I’m going to get a few chores out of the way and then get creative! Night all! 🙂

Ratty Tatty’s Paper Ravings – Creative comp!

Tracey aka RattyTatty, has a creative crafting blog on Blogger and she’s giving us the chance to win some of the fabby new Dovecraft Laura Ashley stuff, and there’s also a prize to be picked by the Donor, for their favourite piece!! Go HERE to check it all out – it’s a fab challenge and you’ve got plenty of time to get yourself entered, as it doesn’t start till 14th April and all you have to use is at least 1 Dovecraft product on your project!

Tracey took a break from blogging due to health reasons, but she’s back now and do check out her free downloadable paper designs. I have some lovely quality papers that I’ve downloaded from Tracey – they print out beautifully! I received the Arte y Pico award from her today and read through the other links (love the handbags) and out of curiosity, I went to see what Arte y Pico is all about.

Arte y Pico  I have had a lovely couple of comment exchanges (in Spanish) with Eseya – whence it originated! Eseya has a lovely blog herself all about the fabric Dolls that she makes – artesanal dolls, using recycled materials – there’s even a Mrs. Spider!! Some of the dolls are historical too – I saw  Jane Austen, and a Marie Antoinette-like doll too!

Apparently the idea behind Arte y Pico is to highlight creativity and art and Eseya says she loves to visit blogs and websites which receive her award. I know her site is Uruguayan and all in Spanish, but you can still see the dolls and the Arte y Pico blog has some amazing creations on it… I’ve bookmarked a Japanese book I found on there all about recycling tetrapak/tetrabrick cartons and making various things from them. Before you wonder if I also speak/read Japanese, no, but the diagrams are step-by-step and clear to follow (I hope so anyway!!). So go enjoy!! 😉

I gladly offer this award to all the bloggers  in my ‘Inspiration’ section especially and all the ‘NGS Artgroup’ bloggers, but I’m not going to bug you all with comments because I know lots of you don’t like the hassle of picking and choosing! (Me neither… ) 😀

A long overdue Thank You!

I have received awards from several people over the last 3-4 weeks, and apart from thanking them on their Blogs, I never seem to have the time to do an award post. It’s a tricky one… I shall pass these awards on to everyone who appears in my sidebar… you’re there because you have inspired me or shared your craft and your skill/talent or expertise and wisdom with us. I also thank everyone who takes time out of their busy lives to leave me comment – whether it’s one word or a paragraph – it makes Blogland a very friendly place to be!

The last thing I want to do is upset anyone, so please accept that this is the way I deal with awards… and I really love receiving them – if you’ve been inspired by anything I talk about or make on my blog, then that’s very rewarding to me. The main thing is to enjoy what you do!!

I love receiving your emails, too, so thank you to all of you who communicate with me in this way. Even some of the spam makes me laugh… I had a pingback the other day from a site dubiously called “Try new sh*t” when I had posted about clay and carving. Naturally, I deleted it – made me laugh, but not really an association I’m seeking.

My Row Houses are becoming a bit of an obsession, as is my newest addiction to carving stamps! I have ordered my kit from Stampeaz.com and Diana has very kindly answered all my questions, but wouldn’t get on the plane with my order as she really felt she should turn up for work instead! I did ask… but hey, I shall just have to wait for the post, like everyone else!

In the meantime, as I am not a particularly patient person, I bought a tiny lino-cutting set and a couple of blocks of what feels like industrial flooring offcuts, and was up quite late last night playing! I was informed by my boss at the Scrapstore, that ‘you have to sit with them between your legs for quite a while till they soften up enough to carve’!  I just gave her ‘that look’ and burst out laughing, but oddly, she was serious. So I have a small piece tucked into the waistband of my trousers – and before you ask, no, it hasn’t fallen into the toilet yet! 😉

Enough waffle from me… I have chores and duties to fulfil today and then I can play! 😀
