Good intentions!

For Crazy Amigos this week, these two are little sketches I made last night in an old “Moon Diary” which I bought a few years ago. It’s much too sweet to throw out so I decided to use it for sketching. In my bid to improve my drawing skills this year, I intend to try and draw/sketch something every day and the art journal every day; I am not doing badly so far – at least my “faces” are improving!!

Titanic 2 - booooring movie!!

She’s quite cute, but not quite there yet!! This next one, however, would make a fitting girlfriend for “What?”:

Miss Who?

I’m just using pencils and a rubber, employing the techniques I learnt from Tam at Willowing. I love her style! 🙂

Mona – Flowerpot Girl!

Created this evening with the Mini-Mona ATCs freebie from Trish Bee’s new Techniques Zone Blog… for Crazy Amigos – Flowers (her hat); Created by HandEarth Day (the hemp and scrim covered jar) and The Three Muses – Hats and crowns and wings and things – all of the above!!

The flowerpot girl!

I slid her into plastic tubing and stitched round her, adding german scrap wings and a fabric flower for her hat/crown… Then I made a slit in the back of her plastic tube and inserted a giant lollipop stick/tongue depressor. I intend her to become a decorative stick for my plant pot, but meanwhile, she’s taken up residence in this upcycled spice jar, covered in scrim, hemp string and wool, with a dash of fabric in ‘natural’ colours!

Earthy, upcycled spice jar!

Trust me when I say this is simple to do and very satisfying – just cover a jar with tacky white glue, and strings/fibres… I used the scrim so that the hemp would have a base to grip on. It seemed to stick very easily and I like the effect.

I’m off to Tintagel Market with DH tomorrow at some silly hour, for the day, so I’ll catch you all over the next few days! 🙂

Spring, Eggs and Ink with water…

I just wanted to play at creating some simple ATCs this evening – nothing complicated or very demanding or precise. So I created 2 pairs of ATCs, coverin 3 of this week’s challenges. (That was the demanding part!):

Crazy Amigos – create a background using inks and water; and Wednesday Stamper – Eggs!

Eggbert reads the paper...

Meet Eggbert from Third Coast RS. He has a female counterpart too! 😉

Eggbert texts!!

I used the water and inks background for the image and the background too! Now here is a crazy-quilted pair of ATCs for Fun With ATCs “Spring” challenge:

That's a very fetching hat, dear!

The images are from Ten Two Studios – Little Yellow Things. I really enjoy stitching these cloth and paper sandwiches! The Dymo was inspired by my urge to mix in a little “urban”…

It's a bit wobbly up here...

Well, I’m working for the rest of the week – no time off till Easter Monday. I wish you all a Happy Easter. We can’t even decide which (if any) eggs to buy!!
