Due to the fact that I have started to concentrate more on digital and photo art more than traditional mediums, I won’t be posting to this blog as much anymore. I have started another wordpress blog called “Embracing Life Digitally“ to showcase all my things photographic, digital and haiku – a far cry from where I started out as a blogger in 2006!
I hope you’ll visit me there, but here is where journal pages, rubber stamping and mixed media belong, along with all the altered art that I am best known for! ♥

“Three is a magic number…” Well I believe that anyway! Theme Thursday this week asks for 3 things, or 3 of something, so I have chosen to make 3 game tiles from the same background piece of glossy card, which I found earlier when I was tidying upstairs.
I used 3 game pieces from a set I bought last summer (or the one before even?) – they measure 3.5″ x 2″ and are like kids’ picture dominoes on the same density board as bookboard, for instance. The stamps are geishas by Third Coast Rubber stamps, among my favourites! They make stunning domino stamps too…
The colours are alcohol inks…
"g" for Geisha perhaps?
"j" for Japanese, maybe?

Welcome to the Darkside of Sunday Postcard Art… Altered realities abound and there will be many entries for this most popular theme. I, myself, am going through a weird and purple phase with dark stamps and odd-birds thrown in for good measure!!!
Entered, charged and answered...
Stamp by Diva Impressions; masks (triangles and birds) by me! Griffin was the illustration on the page I used for my background! The paint is Tempra watercolour, applied with a palette knife – leftover from a couple of journal spreads… waste not, want not, eh? 😉

TMTA – Think Monday, Think ATC – Tiger! It’s the year of the tiger and as such, the chosen theme at TMTA. I didn’t think I had any tiger images in my stash, but, when I was picking through a box of scraps for the previous MMM challenge, I found this fabric scrap which I have had for at least 7 or 8 years! I know, astonishing, isn’t it? Lol!
Great, isn’t he? Such a happy tiger… 😉
And here are a couple more ATCs for Chriss’s Swap til you drop challenge in Hermine’s Zetti-style!
I promised Chriss I’d do two more for the swap! Images are Paper Artsy Minis I got last year!

Blogging and joining arty communities has provided me with unlimited inspiration since 2006. I have ‘met’ so many amazing people, artists, crafters, bloggers, photographers, experts in many fields that it’s mind-boggling. These days, it really doesn’t matter where in the world you live – you have access to anywhere.
With that in mind and that it’s Sunday, I have created a postcard for the open theme at Sunday Postcard Art and Wednesday Stamper. It seems I am not alone by any means, as there are many entries to be found. I also created a watercolour abstract landscape which my DD thought was so good, Mum couldn’t have done it!!!
The image is from Ten Two Studios and I have taken a few liberties with it! I tore the top and bottom off – “Muse” and “Unlimited Inspiration” to position them elsewhere. I have used pens to doodle liberally, parts of a Stampington Stamp, and an altered NG magazine page for my background.
It looks – to me, anyway – as restless as I was feeling when I sat down to start it. That may have been because I was waiting for the background watercolour wash to dry… Here’s that landscape I mentioned:
I added it to my work on Red Bubble where it’s available as a card or print.
I am also destashing at the moment, so have listed some of the items I no longer need or use on a new site – Heavenly Auctions – cheaper than Ebay and far friendlier!

This Sunday’s Gothic Arch theme, set by Nancy. I had cut my arch from chipboard and used the off-cuts to decorate the arch!! The lady is from an old Majica Trading card and I cut a metal flower in half to make a crown for her…
I rather like her! Little face stamp from Third Coast RS. Thanks Nancy, for a fun challenge!!

The Three Muses challenge theme this week is simply “Time” – something we could all do with more of I think. For me, there are never enough hours in the day, but I was feeling time passing more as seasons when I created this page. I definitely had the autumn vibe with my colour palette…
The stamps are all from Home Impressions, apart from the Picasso quote, which is from MaVinci. The gorgeous frame is by Image-inations (I think!).
No gimmicks, just lovely rich paint, stamped images and a little shading with my charcoal pencil. A happy page in my altered art journal!
[Here are my xmas lottery numbers…. 5UYV5WFVPEH5 (just kidding!) It’s a Technorati code check.]

I combined 2 of my fave challenges this evening – The Three Muses and Wednesday Stamper. “Up, up and away” was chosen by Taluula and Patty chose the theme for WS – “Use the colours of your country’s flag”… Here’s a quirky hanging collage made mainly using recycled materials and Ria’s Funny People stamps (Home Impressions):
The red card is last year’s easter egg box, the handmade paper I’ve had for at least 3 years and the netting is waste from a factory. The ‘balloons’ are painted and stamped chipboard circles. The Union Jack – flag of Great Britain and Northern Ireland – is red, white and blue.
I struggled this week to get creative because it’s just so hot and humid here – we’re not accustomed to temperatures in the 70s and 80s, combined with high humidity and my area upstairs where I create, being part of the roof conversion, is pretty much unbearable. I’m not saying bring on the rain, but… cooler evenings would be nice!!
Never happy with our weather, we Brits!
