Let’s have Tea!

That’s this week’s Mixed Media Monday challenge. I started out sewing a pocket for a tea bag… to put on a card, but I liked the card background so much that I couldn’t cover it all up! So I ended up making a fabric and stuff collage diptych with stamping on the other side!! I used pictorial postage stamps so you can see how many Royal persons drink tea – *ggg*

The stamped images are from SeeD’s Victorian set – teapot, cup and saucer and the pocketwatch. The words are from the tiny StudioG alphabets Cat sent me! The tiny gold heart (Ali’s RAK), says Made with love which is how all cuppas should be made!

I used wax on the left and then spritzed with glimmer mist, which beaded up so I threw some of that vanilla scented EP on it and heated… cool! Everything melted, including the mesh! I’m having a lot of fun experimenting and just enjoying the play part of making art! Very liberating… especially after the discipline required to make my new Arty-Farty Jeans Bag.

I made the bag yesterday afternoon and embellished it today. All the pockets are usable too!! The jeans are DD’s old ones, which she loved and so far, she approves of the transformation. I love it and it’ll be going to the shop on Wednesday. Tomorrow I’m making more bags, so it’ll be fabric fun all day ….. wheeeeeeeee!! 🙂
